Selecting the Index Folder.

What is an Index folder?

Pitara creates an index of all of your photos. You can select the folder to keep the indexed photos. It is strongly advised to not keep the index folder on an external hard drive or network drive. Even though it is possible, but it slows down the indexing and search process.

  • Access Settings dialog box from Help -> Settings.
  • Towards the lower bottom, there is an option to select a folder as the index folder. As highlighted in the image.

Note:  Index folder is for the internal functioning of Pitara. Generally, we don’t advise you to change it from the default pick.

Do not copy any other files under the Index folder. Pitara cleans up that folder from time to time. It’s purely needed for the functioning of Pitara.
